Touch Therapy is dynamic...

The name Kinconnxon is pronounced “Kin-Connection”. It’s a play on words with a few meanings attached to it.  First, it’s a reference to buliding connection within ourselves.  Then, that connection extends outward to our families, our communities, the elements, and the living world.  All of our relations.

This is reconnection to our “kin” so to speak.

Kin is also short for "Kinaesthesia".

Kinaesthesia is our mind’s ability to monitor our body’s position and movement in space.  It’s a relative of both proprioception and interoception, all of which are forms of subtle self-awareness of our embodiment. These subtle awarenesses are really part of our innate intelligence as sentient beings.  This is somatic intelligence.

There are many nuances to our movements that, when we slow down and start to feel fiber by fiber, can actually give us necessary information about our movement pathways and the psychosomatic relationship of our bodies and our minds. With a little guidance and breath, we can tune into these subtleties and learn more about what the limitations and parameters of our movements are, and why. Understanding this can lead to greater mechanical receptivity which in turn affects connective tissue transformation and healing.

You could say that somatic intelligence is like our 6th sense. It’s a gateway to better understanding the intradependent relationship

within our bodies, and our mental, emotional,

and spiritual well-being,

And of course it influences our physical comfort and performance.

Our bodies are amazing discovery zones

when we take the time to listen to them.
